From Fighting to Flourishing: How New Orleans Reignited My Calling
“If you’re in your own ‘in-between’ season… let’s talk.” Especially if you're a veteran—I'd love to connect!
There was a time I walked these streets… and I didn’t recognize myself.
I was 22 years old—
a young Sailor who had just crossed over into the Air Force… trying to adjust, trying to fit in, trying to understand where I belonged.
But I didn’t fit.
Not in the way I expected.
Not in the way I hoped.
And the world around me didn’t feel steady either.
Just months before, 9/11 had happened.
Everything felt uncertain.
Heavy.
Shifting.
I found myself in a space that felt like nowhere and everywhere at the same time—
trying to figure out who I was, what I was supposed to do, and where I was going from there.
At the time, I thought I was just struggling with transition.
What I didn’t understand then…
was that I was carrying something deeper.
Something I didn’t yet have the language for.
PTSD.
Years later, I found myself back in New Orleans…
Walking those same streets again.
But this time?
I wasn’t the same woman.
Since being furloughed in October, I’ll be honest—
I’ve been in fight or flight mode.
Tired.
Skeptical.
Burnt out from past experiences.
And quietly struggling to see myself as the leader I know I’m capable of becoming.
I went to New Orleans unsure—unsure about the convention…
and unsure if I would encounter that 22-year-old version of myself again—
the one who was lost, stumbling, and trying to find her place in the world.
I didn’t expect transformation.
More Than a Convention
the music, the movement, the history, the noise.
And yes… even the chaos of Bourbon Street.
But this time, something was different.
I moved through it differently.
Not overwhelmed.
Not stuck.
Not triggered.
Not lost.
Just present.
Grounded.
Aware.
And for the first time in a long time…
I could actually enjoy where I was.
That moment alone told me something had shifted.
The Room That Changed Me
Inside the convention, the energy wasn’t just excitement—it was belief.
People shared real stories.
Struggles. Wins. Faith.
There were moments of worship, declarations, and reminders to speak life—something that deeply resonated with what we practice at my church.
And somewhere in the middle of it all…
a question landed on my heart:
“Will you accept your calling?”
The Wake-Up Call I Needed
What impacted me most weren’t the titles or success stories.
It was the resilience.
People facing:
- serious health battles
- personal struggles
- life-changing setbacks
…and still choosing to show up.
Not perfectly.
But consistently.
It shifted something in me.
Because the truth is—
life is always going to happen.
But staying stuck?
That’s a choice we don’t have to keep making.

Why This Season Feels Different
I’ve struggled with this space before.
I’ve experienced burnout.
I’ve questioned whether I even wanted to do this again.
So this time… I’m approaching it differently.
Not from pressure.
Not from hustle.
Not from proving anything.
But from alignment.
From purpose.
From a desire to:
✔ Help people feel supported
✔ Provide something practical in uncertain times
✔ And build something meaningful—at my own pace
What This Means Moving Forward
If I can be honest?
I’m not trying to do everything.
I’m just focusing on:
one conversation… one connection… one person at a time.
Because that’s where real impact happens.
Why This Matters for You
We’re living in times where:
- unexpected situations happen quickly
- stress can escalate fast
- and most people aren’t as protected as they think
Not just emotionally…
But practically.
And sometimes, the right support—at the right time—
can make all the difference.
An Invitation (No Pressure)
I’m not here to convince anyone.
But if you’ve been:
- looking for more stability
- curious about protecting yourself or your family
- or even wondering if there’s a different path available to you
I’m open to a conversation.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just clarity.

From a young woman once walking these streets feeling lost…
to someone learning how to stand grounded in who she is—
I’m not at the finish line.
But I’m no longer running from the starting line either.
And that alone?
Is growth.
Why LegalShield, and Why Now?
The world is in "trying times," and people need protection now more than ever. The home office shared some incredible updates that have me more excited than ever:
Expanding Access: We’ve officially expanded into Puerto Rico!
Breaking Language Barriers: We now offer dedicated assistance for non-English speakers in 7 states (and growing).
Innovation: The improvements coming from the home office are making it easier for us to protect families across North America.
Will You Accept Your Calling?
Are you looking for a way to protect your family, or perhaps you’re looking for a movement where you can finally grow into the leader you were meant to be?
