In Times of Distress, Hold Onto Hope

We are living in incredibly uncertain times. The news of widespread layoffs across state agencies, the beginning of the federal Reduction in Force (RIF) process, and the devastating floods in Texas are reminders of just how fragile life can feel.

My heart is heavy for those impacted — families displaced, jobs lost, futures shaken. I think the weight of it all — not just in the headlines, but in the conversations I’ve had with people trying to hold on through uncertainty. My heart aches with them, and yet… it also stirs with hope. Because I’ve been here before.

I’ve walked through seasons of lack. I’ve felt the sting of rejection, the fear of the unknown, the darkness of depression, and the panic of survival mode. And in each of those moments, I’ve done what King David did — I cried out to the Lord. Sometimes with bold faith. Sometimes with nothing but tears. And he answered. Not always with a quick fix. But always with His presence.

I’m reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:8: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair…”

It doesn’t mean we won’t feel pressure. It means we don’t have to give up under it. We don’t have to let this economy, this grief, or this chaos steal our hope. God has been faithful to me in famine, in frustration, in fearful seasons.

And I want to remind someone today: He has not forgotten you.

He is still Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Still El Roi, the God who sees you. Still our Refuge, our Shelter, our Peace.

If you’re overwhelmed, I invite you to pause and breathe. And remember: the same God who walked with you before… is walking with you now.

I’m praying for everyone impacted by job loss, disasters, and distress.

May you find the strength to endure and the grace to rebuild. And may your heart be anchored in the unshakable truth:

But in the midst of all this, I’m reminded of King David, who in his deepest moments of despair cried out to the Lord.

And I remember the words of Apostle Paul: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” (2 Corinthians 4:8)
God has carried me through storms, through darkness, through famine — and He will continue to do so.
He is Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. I don’t say that lightly. I say it as someone who has walked through seasons where everything felt like it was falling apart… and yet He held me together.

If you are feeling overwhelmed or afraid, please know: you are not alone.

Turn to the One who sees you, knows you, and loves you. He is faithful. Always. I’m praying for peace over every heart and provision over every household.

May we remember that even when the world feels unstable, God is still on the throne. Hold on. Help is coming.
